Today and tomorrow (the 7th and 8th of March, 2017), we’ll get to see 8 of the remaining teams in the tournament square off, once again, in the return legs of this season’s Round of 16 games, where all of the home teams are trailing on aggregate. Two of them, Barcelona and Arsenal, will be trying overcome 4 goal deficits against their visitors (Paris Saint Germain and Bayern Munich), while Dortmund and Napoli have relatively “easier” tasks (against Benfica and Real Madrid).
There’ll be over 88 players on show; with some of them trying to redeem themselves, some looking to establish their legacies, and others, just looking to pick up some positive form. In order to set the mood for all the action coming our way, we’re giving our picks of the TOP ELVN players we’ll be watching out for, in this week’s games. When it’s all said and done, more than eleven men will appear on our list, but the logic behind whatever groupings we have will be “reasonably” justified.
Without any further ado, let’s get right into our TOP ELVN list. We hope you all enjoy it.
11. Kalidou Koulibaly:
- Anchors Napoli’s defence (alongside Raul Albiol),
- Wasn’t particularly impressive at the Bernabeu, and also struggled a bit after that,
- Had a decent performance against Roma, and should be able to draw some confidence from that.
- His performance in tonight’s game should be of great importance to the final outcome of the tie.
